बेळगाव लाईव्ह विशेष : एखादे ठिकाण, गाव अथवा शहर प्रसिद्धीच्या झोतात येते तेथील नागरिकांच्या कर्तृत्वामुळे. उद्योग व्यवसायासाठी परदेशात स्थायिक झालेले कर्नाटकची दुसरी राजधानी बेळगावचे अनिवासी भारतीय आज जगभरात ज्या ज्या देशात आहेत, त्या ठिकाणी त्यांनी आपले शहर, राज्य आणि देशाचे नांव उज्वल केले आहे. विविध क्षेत्रात अटकेपार झेंडा रोवणाऱ्या या बेळगावच्या मातीतील मंडळींच्या कार्याची दखल घेत त्यांना मानाचा मुजरा करून त्यांचे यश अधोरेखित करण्याद्वारे ते स्थानिक समाजासमोर मांडण्यासाठी बेळगाव लाईव्ह या बेळगावच्या लोकप्रिय स्थानिक दैनंदिन डिजिटल वृत्तवाहिनीने “समुद्रापार बेळगाव” ही साप्ताहिक मालिका सुरू केली आहे. जगभरातील शिक्षण, क्रीडा, साहित्य, संस्कृती, फॅशन, वैद्यकीय क्षेत्र, तंत्रज्ञान क्षेत्र वगैरे क्षेत्रात बेळगावच्या अनिवासी भारतीयांनी आपले कर्तुत्व आणि यशाद्वारे आपल्या शहराचे नांव उज्वल केले आहे. यापैकीच एक यशस्वी व्यक्तिमत्व म्हणजे बेळगावातील उद्योजक व्यक्ती म्हणजे अभियंते अमोल कल्लाप्पा कोनेरी.
अमोल कोनेरी, बेळगावच्या कंग्राळी बी.के. या उपनगरातील अत्यंत साध्या, सुखी, मध्यमवर्गीय, शेतकरी मराठा एकत्रित कुटुंबातील असून, सध्या जर्मनीतील फ्रेडरिकशाफेन येथे अभियंता म्हणून वास्तव्यास आहेत. त्यांचे वडील कै. कल्लाप्पा एम. कोनेरी आणि त्यांची आई सौ. रेणुका कल्लाप्पा कोनेरी आणि बाकी बेळगावच्या कंग्राळी बी.के. येथे त्यांच्या घरी राहतात.त्यांनी आपले शालेय शिक्षण बेन्सन इंग्लिश मीडियम हायस्कूल, यमनापूर, बेळगाव येथून पूर्ण केले 2006 मध्ये एसएसएलसी उत आणि 2008 मध्ये टिळकवाडी येथील एसकेई सोसायटीच्या जीएसएस कॉलेजमधून पीसीएमबी ग्रुपमध्ये बारावीचे शिक्षण पूर्ण केले. केएलएस विश्वनाथराव देशपांडे इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजी, हल्याळ येथून इलेक्ट्रिकल आणि इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्समधील अभियांत्रिकी (बीई) करून ते सध्या जर्मनीतील फ्रेडरिकशाफेन येथे ऑटोमोटिव्ह इंडस्ट्रीमध्ये काम करत आहेत आणि तेथे त्यांची पत्नी बबिता शेटके कोनेरी यांच्यासमवेत राहतात. त्याही इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स आणि कम्युनिकेशन इंजिनीअरिंगमध्ये बॅचलर ऑफ इंजिनीअरिंग (B.E.) आहेत.
आपल्या पालकांबद्दल बेळगाव लाईव्हशी बोलताना, अमोल म्हणाले, “माझे वडील समाजातील एक प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्ती होते. त्यांनी भारतीय सैन्यात आणि नंतर SBI मध्ये सेवा केली होती, जी आजही आपल्या सर्वांच्या हृदयात वसलेली आहे. माझी प्रेमळ आई एक सशक्त गृहिणी आहे आणि ती मी माझ्या आयुष्यात पाहिलेली सर्वात कष्टकरी आणि साधी राहणीमान असलेली स्त्री आहे. माझ्या आई-वडिलांनी आमच्यासाठी खूप मेहनत आणि त्याग घेतली आहे. शिक्षणासह शक्य तितके चांगले जीवन दिले आहे, जे त्यांना त्यांच्या बालपणात मिळू शकले नाही. माझ्या वडिलांनी आमच्या शैक्षणिक गरजा पूर्ण करण्यात काहीही कमी पडणार नाही याची काळजी घेतली होती आणि माझी आई प्रत्येक पावलावर त्यांचा पाठीचा कणा म्हणून साथ देत राहिली”.
अमोल पुढे म्हणतात, “आम्ही सगळे मिळून आमच्या सुरुवातीच्या काळात शेतात काम करायचो आणि आमच्या स्वतःच्या गायीही होत्या. माझ्या वडिलांना त्यांच्या पगारातून आमच्या सर्व गरजा पूर्ण करणे खूप कठीण होते आणि म्हणून त्यांनी गायी म्हशी पाळून कुटुंबाच्या उत्पन्नात भर घालण्याची योजना आखली, ज्यामुळे आम्हाला घरी भरपूर दूध आणि लोणी मिळत होते. शेतीतून मिळणारे उत्पन्न आम्हाला आणि आमच्या गुरांना चारण्यासाठी पुरेसे होते. ते आमच्या आयुष्यातील सोनेरी दिवस होते. एकाच वेळी काम करणे आणि अभ्यास करणे खूप आव्हानात्मक होते, परंतु घरातील शिस्त यामुळे आमची स्वप्ने पूर्ण करण्यात यश मिळाले. यश ही काही एक दिवसाची गोष्ट नाही आणि ती केवळ शिस्त, सातत्य आणि कठोर परिश्रमानेच मिळवता येते.”
त्यांनी पुढे सांगितले, की याआधी ते कॉन्टिनेंटल ऑटोमोटिव्हमध्ये काम करत होते आणि 2017 मध्ये पहिल्यांदा जर्मनीला गेले.तो काळ उत्सुकतेने भरलेला आणि नवीन वाटा शोधण्याचा होता. पहिली अडचण होती ती म्हणजे जेवणाची,जर्मनीत भारतीय जेवण मिळणे कठीण आणि जर्मन पदार्थांवर जास्त काळ अवलंबून राहणे अशक्य. जर्मनी हा कायद्यांचा देश आहे. प्रत्येक गोष्टीचे नियोजन करणे आवश्यक, विशेषतः प्रवास. तसेच आंतर-सांस्कृतिक भावना समजून घेतल्या. “आम्ही कोणाच्याही भावना दुखावू शकत नाही तर आपल्या देशाची चांगली प्रतिमाही मांडू शकतो. जर्मनीमध्ये लोक सरळ आहेत. त्यांच्याशी मैत्री करण्यासाठी तुम्हाला त्यांचा विश्वास जिंकावा लागतो. ते शिस्त, वेळ, गुणवत्ता आणि कठोर परिश्रम यावर विश्वास ठेवतात. विशिष्ट वयानंतर मुले त्यांच्या पालकांसोबत राहत नाहीत, परंतु ते त्यांच्या जवळच्या रक्तातील नातेवाईकांशी चांगले संबंध ठेवतात.
ते म्हणतात की भारतीय मंडळे एकत्र येऊन गणेश चतुर्थी आणि दिवाळी साजरी करतात आणि प्रत्येक गोष्टीची मांडणी करतात आणि ती वेगवेगळ्या प्रदेशावर अवलंबून असते. एक्सप्लोर करण्यासाठी आणि आनंद घेण्यासाठी बर्‍याच गोष्टी आहेत. ऑक्‍टोबर फेस्‍ट (हा बिअर फेस्‍ट आहे आणि जर्मनीला बिअरसाठी ओळखले जाते 🍺), कार्निव्‍हल्स (सर्व संस्कृती आणि इतिहासासह रस्त्यावरून मिरवणूक), सीहासेनफेस्‍ट (ससा सण) इ.
त्यांना बेळगावची खूप आठवण येते आणि बेळगावबद्दल बोलताना ते म्हणतात, “बेळगाव हे माझे या पृथ्वीवरील सर्वात आवडते ठिकाण आहे. बेळगाव ची हवाच वेगळी आहे. बेळगाव सारखे जीवन कुठे नाही भेटत (संपूर्ण जग फिरल्यावर माझा अनुभव). माझे आवडते जेवण गरम भाकरी आणि लोणी. आईच्या हातानी बनलेली बटाट्याची भाजी, मटण माझे आवडते आहेत. मी एक खाद्यप्रेमी आहे आणि मला सर्व अस्सल साधे आणि कॉन्टिनेन्टल पदार्थ शिजवायला आणि खायला आवडतात.”
बेळगाव लाईव्हने बेळगावातील तरुण-तरुणींना काय संदेश आहे, असे विचारले असता ते म्हणतात, “बेळगाव हे अतिशय सुंदर ठिकाण आहे. तिथे जन्म घेऊन जगायला भाग्यवान समजा. तिथे अभ्यास करा, शिक्षण घ्या आणि शक्य असल्यास काही वर्षे बाहेर जा, तुम्हाला त्याची किंमत कळेल.”

Acknowledging & high-lighting the achievements of these sons & daughters of the soil, to the local population back home, is the weekly series “SAMUDRA-PAAR BELGAO” literally meaning in Marathi language, “Belgaum Across-Oceans”, by BELGAUM LIVE, a local Marathi daily digital news channel with a large subscriber base & readership. The ever-enterprising NRI community from Belgaum, have made the city proud by their achievements & success in various fields such as Education, Sports, Literature, Culture, Medicine, Engineering, Architecture, Technology, Fashion, etc.. One amongst many such achievers & enterprising individuals from Belgaum is Er. Amol Kallappa Koneri.
Amol Koneri, hails from a very simple, happy, middle-class, Agricultural Maratha joint family from the suburb of Kangrali B.K., Belgaum, and currently residing and working as an Engineer in Friedrichshafen (फ्रेडरिकशाफेन), Germany. His parents, father Late Mr. Kallappa M. Koneri & his mother Mrs. Renuka Kallappa Koneri and the rest of the family, continue to live at their family home in Kangrali B.K., Belgaum. He completed his schooling from Bensons English Medium High School, Yamnapur, Belgaum and passed his SSLC in the year 2006. and completed his PUC II in the PCMB Group from SKE Society’s GSS college in Tilakwadi in the year 2008, and then further did his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical & Electronics from KLS Vishwanathrao Deshpande Institute of Technology, Haliyal, in Uttara Kannada District, of Karanataka. He is presently working in an Automotive Industry at Friedrichshafen(फ्रेडरिकशाफेन), in Germany and lives there along with his wife Babita Shetake Koneri who is also a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) herself, in Electronics & Communication Engineering.
While speaking to Belgaum Live about his parents, Amol says “ My Father was a well respected person in the society, served in the Indian Army and later in SBI, who still resides in all of our hearts. My loving mother is a strong house-wife and she is one of the hardest working and simplest living person I have seen in my life. My parents have sacrificed a lot for us, giving us the best life they could, with education, which they couldn’t get in their childhood. My Father made sure that nothing falls short to meet our educational needs and my mother kept backing him all the way as his backbone in every step”. He further says “We all together used to work in the fields in our early days and also had cows for our own house purpose. It was quite tough for my father to manage all our needs with his salary and so he planned to add to the family income by rearing cattle, which left us with unlimited milk and butter at home. The yield from the agricultural farming was sufficient for us and our cattle to be fed. Those were the golden days of our lives. It was very challenging to work and study at the same time, but the pressure and discipline at home, brought us the success we dreamt off. Success isn’t a one-day thing, and can only be achieved by discipline, consistency and hard work”.
He says earlier on he was working in Continental Automotive and travelled first time to Germany in 2017, and was full of surprises, but also ready to explore a new life waiting for him. Food off course, was a big concern, as Indian food is not available every where & he could not sustain on German food for a long time. He says Germany is a country of laws. Every thing needs to be planned, especially travel. Also you got to understand Inter-cultural emotions. He says “We cannot hurt anyone’s sentiments but also project our country’s good image. In Germany, people are straight forward. You have to win their trust to be friends with them. They believe in discipline, timing, quality and hard work. Children don’t stay with their parents after a certain age, but they maintain good relationships between their close blood relatives.” In Germany Amol Says food culture is not like India. Each one for him or her-self, and people in western countries do not share, and the order in restaurants is taken from each individual person and is also paid for what you eat. Group billing happens very very rarely, only if it is a party thrown by somebody. He says famous dishes which he likes a lot is German Swabia’s best-salads, Maultaschen and Käsepätzle.
He says Indians celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi & Diwali to gather with Indian mandals participating and arranging every thing and depends on region to region. There are a lot of things to explore and enjoy. The best festivals are Oktober fest ( its a Beer festival & Germany is know for Beer 🍺), Carnivals( procession into streets with all culture and history), seehasenfest ( rabbit festival ), etc..
He misses Belgaum a lot & speaking about Belgaum, he says “Belgaav is my most favorite place on this earth. Belgaav chi haavach vegli aahe. Belgaav saarkha jevan kuthe nahi bhettat (after roaming whole world its my experience). Majhe avadte jevan aahe Garam Bhakri aani Loni. Aaicha haatani banavleli Batatyachi bhaji, mutton majhe favorite aahet. I am a food lover and I love to cook and eat all authentic simple and Continental foods”.
When asked by Belgaum Live, what message he has for youngsters and youth in Belgaum, he says “Belgaum is a very beautiful place. Feel lucky to be born and live there. Study there, get educated and move out for few years if possible, you will realise the worth of it”.
