दात मेलबर्नचे… हात बेळगावचे!

बेळगाव लाईव्ह विशेष :एखादे ठिकाण, गाव अथवा शहर प्रसिद्धीच्या झोतात येते तेथील नागरिकांच्या कर्तृत्वामुळे. उद्योग व्यवसायासाठी परदेशात स्थायिक झालेले कर्नाटकची दुसरी राजधानी बेळगावचे अनिवासी भारतीय आज जगभरात ज्या ज्या देशात आहेत, त्या ठिकाणी त्यांनी आपले शहर, राज्य आणि देशाचे नांव उज्वल केले आहे. विविध क्षेत्रात अटकेपार झेंडा रोवणाऱ्या या बेळगावच्या मातीतील मंडळींच्या कार्याची दखल घेत त्यांना मानाचा मुजरा करून त्यांचे यश अधोरेखित करण्याद्वारे ते स्थानिक समाजासमोर मांडण्यासाठी बेळगाव लाईव्ह या बेळगावच्या लोकप्रिय स्थानिक दैनंदिन डिजिटल वृत्तवाहिनीने “समुद्रापार बेळगाव” ही साप्ताहिक मालिका सुरू केली आहे. जगभरातील शिक्षण, क्रीडा, साहित्य, संस्कृती, फॅशन, वैद्यकीय क्षेत्र, तंत्रज्ञान क्षेत्र वगैरे क्षेत्रात बेळगावच्या अनिवासी भारतीयांनी आपले कर्तुत्व आणि यशाद्वारे आपल्या शहराचे नांव उज्वल केले आहे. यापैकीच एक यशस्वी व्यक्तिमत्व म्हणजे बेळगावचे डॉ. आशिष शशांक मोहिते हे होत.

जाधवनगर बेळगाव येथील रहिवासी असलेले आशिष मोहिते हे सध्या मेलबर्न (ऑस्ट्रेलिया) येथे कार्यरत आहेत. व्यवसायाने डॉक्टर असलेले मोहिते हे डेंटल सर्जन अर्थात दंत शल्यविशारद आहेत. त्यांनी आपले प्राथमिक आणि माध्यमिक शिक्षण सेंट पॉल्स हायस्कूल आणि पदवी पूर्व शिक्षण आरएलएस सायन्स कॉलेजमधून पूर्ण केले. दंतचिकित्सेसाठी त्यांना मराठा मंडळ दंत महाविद्यालयात सरकारी मेरिट सीट मिळाली. पुढे कराड (महाराष्ट्र) येथील कृष्णा दंत महाविद्यालयामध्ये लेझर थेरपीचे शिक्षण घेणाऱ्या डाॅ. आशिष मोहिते यांनी बेळगावातील सुप्रसिद्ध दंतवैद्य डॉ मनीषा हेरेकर यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली दंतरोपण आणि पुनर्स्थापना यामध्ये प्रभुत्व मिळविले. ऑस्ट्रेलियात काम करणारे त्यांचे मोठे काका शिरीष मोहिते हे ज्या ज्या वेळी बेळगावला येत त्यावेळी ते ऑस्ट्रेलियाबद्दल भरभरून बोलत त्यामुळे डॉ. आशिष मोहिते यांना देखील ऑस्ट्रेलियात जाऊन काम करण्याची इच्छा निर्माण झाली. ऑस्ट्रेलियाला जाणे तितकेसे अवघड नव्हते. मात्र तेथे जाऊन व्यावसायिक दृष्ट्या स्वतःमध्ये आणखी सुधारणा घडविणे गरजेचे होते. यासाठी त्यांनी ऑस्ट्रेलियातील मेलबर्न विद्यापीठातून मास्टर्स इन पब्लिक हेल्थ अभ्यासक्रम पूर्ण करण्याद्वारे नोकरी मिळविली. ते सध्या मेलबर्न मधील डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ हेल्थ अँड ह्यूमन सर्व्हिसेस अर्थात सरकारच्या आरोग्य आणि मानवी सेवा खात्यामध्ये काम करत आहेत. मराठी एकत्र कुटुंबातील असलेल्या डॉ. आशिष मोहिते यांचे वडील शशांक मोहिते आणि काका शैलेंद्र मोहिते हे उभयता रामलिंग खिंड गल्ली, बेळगाव येथे टीव्ही, ऑडिओ सिस्टीम्स आणि इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्सचा व्यवसाय करतात.

आपल्या यशासंदर्भात बोलताना डॉ. आशिष मोहिते म्हणाले की, जीवनात यशस्वी होण्यासाठी कठीण परिश्रम शिस्त महत्त्वाची असते. कोरोना प्रादुर्भाव काळात काम करणे अतिशय आव्हानात्मक होते. आम्हाला मोठ्या धैर्याने कठीण परिश्रम घेत त्या आव्हानांवर मात करावी लागली. कोरोना काळातील उत्कृष्ट कार्याबद्दल त्यांना ऑस्ट्रेलियन सरकारकडून स्पेशल रेकग्नेशन आणि मेलबर्न येथे दंत चिकित्सतेचे प्रमाणपत्र देखील मिळाले. याखेरीज कोरोना काळातील त्यांच्या कार्याबद्दल ऑस्ट्रेलियन सरकारच्या आरोग्य खात्याचे मंत्री व संसद सदस्य मार्टिन फॉली यांच्याकडून डॉ आशिष मोहिते यांना प्रशंसेचे कृतज्ञतापत्रही मिळाले आहे. डॉ. आशिष म्हणतात की, नवी पिढी अतिशय प्रतिभावंत, आत्मविश्वासाने भरलेली लक्ष्याभिमुख अशी आहे. मात्र चिकाटी, प्रामाणिकता, कठीण परिश्रम, शिस्त हा स्वतःचे ध्येय साध्य करण्याचा मूलमंत्र आहे हे ध्यानात ठेवले पाहिजे. अनिवासी भारतीय हे मुळात उद्योगशील असून हे आपले स्वतःचे उद्योग स्थापित करून लागले आहेत. ऑस्ट्रेलियातील लोक अतिशय मैत्रीपूर्ण असून त्यांना भारतीय खाद्यपदार्थ आवडतात. तंदुरी, बटर चिकन आणि करी त्यांना विशेष प्रिय आहे भारतीय विवाह सोहळ्यांना हजर राहण्यासाठी ते नेहमी उत्सुक असतात. त्यांना भारतीय संस्कृती आणि सणवार देखील प्रिय आहेत अशी माहिती डॉ मोहिते यांनी दिली. माझ्या यशाचे संपूर्ण श्रेय माझे आजोबा दिवंगत बाळासाहेब आर. मोहिते यांचे आशीर्वाद, तसेच आजी शरयू मोहिते, वडील शशांक मोहिते, आई रूपाली मोहिते, बेळगावचे काका-काकू शैलेंद्र बी. मोहिते व नीलिमा मोहिते, ऑस्ट्रेलियातील मोठे काका शिरीष बी. मोहिते आणि काकू गीतांजली मोहिते यांचा पाठिंबा व प्रोत्साहन याला जाते, असे डॉ. आशिष मोहिते यांनी स्पष्ट केले. तसेच आपली कारकीर्द घडविण्यात मोलाचे योगदान देणाऱ्या शाळा महाविद्यालय आणि विद्यापीठातील गुरुजनांबद्दलही त्यांनी कृतज्ञता व्यक्त केली.

One amongst many such achievers & enterprising individuals from Belgaum is Dr. Ashish Shashank Mohite.
Dr. Ashish Mohite is a resident of Jadhav Nagar, Belgaum, and is currently working, in Melbourne, Australia. He is a Doctor by profession and is a Dental Surgeon. He completed his primary & secondary schooling from St. Pauls’s High School, Belgaum, & his PUC I & II from RLS Science College. He got a government merit seat for Dentistry, at the Maratha Mandal Dental College, Belgaum. He further went to study Laser Therapy at Krishna Dental College, Karad and did his hands-on training in ‘Dental Implant & Restoration’ under Dr. Manisha Herekar, at Belgaum. Since his eldest uncle Mr. Shirish Mohite was already working in Australia, and would narrate about Australia, whenever he came to India, Dr. Ashish Mohite too developed a desire to go to Australia & work there. Going to Australia was not very difficult for him, but once he got there he had to further up-grade himself professionally & so he did his MASTERS IN PUBLIC HEALTH from the University of Melboure, Australia and managed to get a job. He is currently working with the ‘Department of Health & Human Services’ a Government Organisation, in Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Ashish Mohite hails from a joint Marathi family with his father Mr. Shashank Mohite & his uncle Mr. Shailendra Mohite running a business, and dealing in Televisions, Audio Systems & Electronics at Ramlingkhind Galli, Belgaum.
Dr. Ashish Mohite says one has to work very hard and follow discipline to succeed. He says the challenges of working during the Covid-19 pandemic were many, and they had to work very hard and bravely to overcome thos challenges. He received a special recognition from the Government of Australia for services rendered during Covid & received a Certificate of Digital Dentistry at Melbourne, Australia. His work was acknowledged and he received a letter of appreciation from Mr. Martin Foley, Member of Parliament, & Minister of Health, Government of Australia, for his work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Ashish says, in his own words “ The new generation is very bright, confident and Target oriented. Persistence, honesty, hardwork and discipline will be the mantra to achieve self-goals”. He says Indians are very enterprising and are establishing their own enterprises. The people in Australia are very friendly. They love Indian food. Tandoori, Butter chicken and Curry are their favourites. They are eager to attend Indian weddings. They like the Indian culture and festivals.
Dr. Ashish Mohite, attributes his success to the blessing of his late grandfather Mr. Balasaheb R. Mohite, and support from his grandmother Smt. Sharayu Mohite, his father Mr. Shashank Mohite and mother Mrs. Rupali Mohite, his uncle and aunty Mr. Shailendra B. Mohite and Mrs. Neelima Mohite from Belgaum and his eldest uncle and aunty in Australia Mr. Shirish B. Mohite & Mrs. Geetanjali Mohite. He also acknowledges the contributions of his teachers at school, college and university, in moulding his career.
